Dempsey Needs Your Support!
Dempsey entered Weimaraner Rescue of the South's program in January battling serious skin issues. Despite numerous treatments, he continues to struggle. The vet has recommended a skin biopsy to diagnose exactly what the issue is. The biopsy and additional tests will run $300.

Special dog helps children fighting cancer
Eli is a very special dog indeed. He is a 3 legged weim that ended up at a kill shelter in south MS back in 2004. Weim rescue of the South was contacted & we got this sweet boy to safety. He was heartworm positive, so had to endure heartworm treatment, then survived Hurrican Katrina with his foster family in Ocean Springs, MS. Eli has always been a special dog who won the hearts of everyone who met him. When he was adopted by a wonderful couple near Nashville, Eli really started to show the world what he could do! Eli has completed his novice hunt & tracking titles, was an honored guest at the Weimaraner National breed show a few years back, and now has successfully earned his Therapy dog certification. We are so proud of Eli & Sallie! Please watch the news clip below to see what they are doing to help kids going through Chemo at Vanderbilt Children's hospital.
Foster Homes - WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!!!
Foster homes are a critical part of our success as a rescue group. As a foster home you would provide a loving, stable environment for a rescued dog until he/she is adopted. We are often forced to board some of these dogs due to the lack of foster homes. This is a tremendous financial burden on the rescue, not to mention the stress it causes for the dogs. Please consider taking one of these guys into your home today! Click here if you would like to foster a Weim.
